Very interesting look into the prevailing view on female behavior in early 1800s. Originally published in 1811, first editions at time of writing are worth more than $1100. This copy, a reproduction of an 1830 edition, is not nearly so valuable as that, but it gives an excellent idea of the kind of books being published by women for women in that time.
