Style Deficit Disorder: Harajuku Street Fashion, Tokyo - Tiffany Godoy. Fascinating photos, useful information not found elsewhere. It is as extremely specific as the name would imply. The hardcover book covers the history of the area as a fashion incubator, profiles of tastemakers, and detailed short histories of the relevant brands (i.e. Hysteric Glamor, BAPE, the big GosuRori names). Interestingly and importantly, it also goes into the main magazines that covered each movement, with show more sample covers and editorial. Sometimes I wonder if paper magazines are doomed to extinction, but let's face it, most clothes look crappy when viewed on a screen. Maybe paper editorial is still relevant for fringe fashion, as seen in magazines like Kera.
