- Julia Willis is an award-winning American playwright, novelist, and humorist. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1973 before beginning her editorial career with Red Clay Books. Moving to Boston, Willis became a founding member of the women's political comedy troupe The Ends and Means Committee and was a staff writer for the historic lesbian soap opera Two in Twenty. Highly sought after for her sharp wit, she has scripted comedy material for NPR's Terra Infirma, the Boston Baked Theater, and legendary comedian Joan Rivers. Her extensive literary contributions have been supported by fellowships from the MacDowell Colony and the Edward Albee Foundation
