textile historian - Short biography
- Sunny Yang from Chappaqua, New York, has lived in Japan for four years. A teacher of ikebana and arts and crafts, she was particularly drawn to the beauty of Japanese textiles. Childhood memories of helping her mother select fabrics from a merchant in her native Korea came flooding back as she pursued this interest and provided the inspiration for her books on Japanese and Korean textiles.

This is part of my collection of books on Japanese textiles. It discusses techniques of weaving, dyeing, needlework, and design, and covers historical Japanese costume and contemporary fabrics. Illustrations are well-chosen to complement the text.
