Rodimus Prime sees the value in capitalism. But here's a question - given that millions of years of civil war have clearly collapsed Cybertron's economy, where does Prime get the shanix from? Presumably the only commodity the Autobots have is bodies, so are Autobots selling their labour to other species in order to gain foreign currency and access to interplanetary markets. Maybe they rely on donations from sympathisers. Or perhaps there are other species whose governments channel funding to show more them because the Decepticons pose a threat to them too. We should be told. show less
The Budiansky Transformers run started as just totally cynical, laughably stiff and exposition-ridden story and art and evolved into something kinda fun with intermittent moments of sci-fi brilliance (in particular, the stories with Blaster as antihero, from the Smelting Pool to saving kids out in space with Sky Lynx, and the Starscream-as-Singularity arc ending with issue 50). Better than I'd expected them to be by the end (worse at the beginning!)

Man, this issue makes no sense. It looks good, and it reads well, but there are so many questions. Firstly, Onslaught is a hard-arse. He could squish the humans and then take down the Throttlebots and he'd be fine. Secondly, why don't the Decepticons come back later when the Throttlebots have gone? Thirdly, why is an archaeologist dealing with recently-buried Transformers? That's not her field at all. So many questions!

Whilst I've read and re-read all of these before, its nice to have them in a single volume to experience as the Americans would have experienced it. Obviously the British additions make for a better set of story arcs, but this is still fun.
