I have not read the first book in the series, STHLM Confidential (yet), but Sthlm Grotesque was easy to get into since the book story is stand-alone, however, there are connections to the first book. However, it just makes me even more eager about reading the first book.

Journalist Solveig Berg is in place for the big gala, Guldkocken ("The Golden Chef"). What she did not expect was that her boss would be shot. Was she the perpetrator's actual victim or did he shoot the wrong person? Solveig show more begins to dig and realize that in the restaurant world are the dark secrets that in the end could kill her...

Sthlm Grotesque is my kind of crime novel. I like that the story is set in the restaurant world, where the rivalry is so great that murder is not ruled out. Solveig Berg is an interesting and sympathetic character and the book left me with a taste for more and I definitely want to read the first book in the series as well as more books.

Una specie di thriller che del thriller ha ben poco.
Tutti i personaggi sono vuoti, non dicono nulla e nessuno compresa la protagonista suscita la benchè minima empatia. Non c'è suspance, i fatti accadono e vi si assiste senza alcuna partecipazione. Gli omicidi sono buttati lì tanto per dire che questo è un thriller. La festa finale è idiozia pura e il finale è ridicolo. Per fortuna che l'ho preso in biblioteca altrimenti erano soldi buttati.
