A really different story. The main character goes on a vacation and works in a bookstore as part of her stay. My kind of vacation ! But in the process she becomes part of the family that owns the store. I love that she is invested and works hard to change things in the store and the town and in the process makes friends, particularly a special one.
A likeable, fast-paced film with Megan Followers in the leading role as an artist turned small-time crook. The acting is good (if caricatured) and there's a good contrast between the two leading men: a depressed humanitarian philosopher and a narcissistic and vengeful car-dealer, supposedly an art manager.

A tad more bad language than I'm comfortable with, but mostly in context; intimate scenes happen but nothing explicit, and while the subject matter is quite intense, it's mostly dealt with show more sensitively. The rating of 15 is about right, in my view.

Bought at a charity shop with no idea what it was about, we both enjoyed 'Reluctant Angel', and will no doubt watch it again at some point.

Anne Shirley makes the transition from a romantic, impetuous orphan to an outspoken, adventurous and accomplished young teacher.
The continuing adventures of Anne Shirley in New York and in France during World War I. Gilbert is offered a staff position at a hospital in New York and persuades Anne to go with him, as he has arranged a position for her at a publishing house. But when her manuscript is stolen and Gilbert is later missing in action, the stage is set for the final installment in the story. Starring Megan Follows, Jonathan Crombie, and Cameron Daddo.
