I think I wanted to love this play more than I do. Honestly, I only really remember one song from the show: "A Song That Goes Like This". The story kind of got away from itself, much like the movie did. I do love how this was an ADAPTATION, not a straight written play version because that wouldn't have worked. They took liberties with a lot of material but kept a lot of it too, and it worked really well for fans of the movie. I can't imagine it would be very entertaining if you didn't love show more the original material though. show less

Strange to say the least, but there are some nice bits and some of the music is good. The dialogue incorporates some of the best lines from Life of Brian--but in a knowing manner for an audience (like me) that probably has most of it memorized. The Royal Albert Hall looks great, and certainly it's a very British thing to turn a film in to an oratorio with a classical orchestra and choir. Idle is the star here and one of the main singers, but the other four are not Python members, but actuall show more professional singers. And the show is better for it. show less
