Catalogue for the exhibition "Gade: Making Gods" held at Rossi & Rossi (London, England) from December 3, 2008 - January 16, 2009.

Gade aims to define what Tibetan art is once it has lost its religious and ritual function, and this changing Tibet is eloquently embodied in his work. His paintings also pay hommage to tradition. Gade is not afraid to draw on his Tibetan artistic heritage, but he does so in his own very unique way: 'I sincerely want my work to be part of the continuity of show more Tibetan traditional art, to belong to a "Tibetanised" context, rather than to a Western or Chinese language system.'
