Caledonia finds a statue in Loch Tay and her salvage company brings it up. Her ex-husband turns up in town wanting her to go back to work for his salvage company. Caledonia says no but he won't give up and spies on her. Caledonia has been hearing voices connected to a poem she found as a child. Now the voices have meaning for her with the retrieval of the statue who turns human at night. Struan is uncertain what is going on. It is up to one of the spirits who Caledonia has heard to explain show more it to Struan. He is attracted to Caledonia as she is to him. But will they act upon the attraction? Will Struan's curse be lifted? Will they be together? Will Kip destroy what Caledonia and Struan have?

I enjoyed this story. I liked Caledonia and Struan. I also liked her parents and the O'Reilly brothers who work for Caledonia. They provide comic relief. I like the uncertainty between Caledonia and Struan of who will speak of love first. I found his brothers dropping hints for what Struan had to do funny. They would not come out and say what he and she had to do. Caledonia was oblivious to the hints.

I look forward to reading the other books in the series.

I picked up this book because the plot intrigued me; but I nearly stopped reading it a half dozen times because of the amount of explicit sex scenes and the crude language during the sex scenes. I'm not a prude..... I don't mind sex scenes, but these were really overdone! There was not much "romance" between the characters; but there were plenty of hot, lewd, crude lusty sex scenes!
I know the sex scenes are a matter of preference and I guess I don't care much for the erotica type. I prefer a show more little more class and romance and leave something to the imagination type of sex scenes.
I was really disappointed because I loved the plot and the characters. This book had so much potential... if the characters and the story had a little more development and there were less crude sex scenes, I would have given this book 4 or 5 stars. (less) [edit]

Different story of shapeshifters. I liked Rose but I loved Alessandro and Kade. I liked the humor between the cousins. Rose is used as a pawn in the battle of good and evil. When the battle between good and evil occurs, I liked the tight writing style. The scene was taut and nerve wracking to see who would win. A good read.

Tara Nina took me on an adventure the minute I started the story and I didn’t want to stop reading for a second. A well written story about a Scottish treasure hunter; who lost everything in a divorce but finds so much more.

From the minute you meet Calidonia you feel as if you have known her forever. All her life she has been haunted by a poem, she found as a young girl with her two best friends the O’Reilly’s. As a seasoned diver and treasure hunter she finds herself show more drawn to the lake near her home.
While diving off her father’s boat she finds a statue of a Scottish Laird. And what a statue he is. He seems so real that although he is stone Calidonia finds herself lusting after him and finding that she wants and needs to know more about him.

Whispered suggestions are sent to her from the wind or whatever it is that helps her in deciphering the poem from her childhood. In her dreams she dreams of this hunky Scottish Laird. She soon finds out that the statue is that of Struan McKinnion. Over two hundred years ago a curse was put on his six brothers and himself.

You think waking two hundred years later is bad enough, just finding out that you are stone by day and human by night is more than enough to though you into a tailspin. Then you add beautiful Calidonia on top of that and you have a beautiful love story.
With the help of a guardian angel from Struan’s past, Calidonia is able to bring him half way out of the curse and do the sparks ever fly. Hot, steamy love scenes that make you want to run for a cold shower.

As they work together to break the curse totally they find themselves falling in love but, at first not sure if it is just sex or more.
Not wanting to give away the whole story you will just have to pick this story up and read it for yourself.

I look forward to more of the McKinnion’s and also reading the previous two books to see how this all started. A most enjoyable book with; Spirits, Gargoyles, and lots of hot steamy sex, along with all the romance you can ask for. A perfect love story that makes me wanting more, thanks you Tara. I look forward to reading more.
