Ines Saint

I loved this one! It's a wonderful second chance story set in a quaint small town filled with wonderfully quirky characters. It's very well written with a great pace to the story.

Childhood sweethearts, Cassidy Morgan and Sam Amador, are reunited when Cassie returns to Spinning Hills to represent Sam in the sale of historic homes he has renovated. The past we know never stays in the past so these two need to deal with it. The longer they are together it becomes clear neither has ever gotten show more over the other or the incident that originally drove them apart.

This was truly a fun read. This author is new to me and she has definitely gained a fan. I will definitely be going back and reading more of her books, especially the first one in this series. This book can easily be read stand alone though, I had no problems with it being the second in the series. I highly recommend it. show less

Perfect Paige by Inés Saint

When I began reading I had no sympathy for Paige and wondered how she could be the female lead of any story – how could any man want a Barbie-Stepford Wife wannabe? Well, as I read Paige was explained and she grew and became oh so much more than she seemed in the beginning. Alex, the male lead in the story was gruff and tough and joyless…or so it seemed at first. He, too, grew and became as the story unfolded. They definitely were good in show more the story and good for one another. I liked them more and more as the book progressed and was rooting for them to have a HEA.

This is a story of family and community, of finding one’s strengths and playing to them, of coming to terms with the past in order to move forward in life and…it is a story of finding love when unexpected.

I have never read a book by this author but do look forward to reading the next book in the series because I REALLY want to know more about Hope and Gracie. Spinning Hills, Ohio sounds quirky and fun – I see online that there is a previous series written in this town that I have not read and wonder if I will be able to get my hands on those books, too.

I received an ARC of Fixer Upper in exchange for an honest review. I have really come to enjoy Ines Saint's imaginative Spinning Hills series. She takes subjects that fascinate me such as romance and renovation and centers stories that are delightful, uplifting and hilarious but still wonderful around them. Not to be missed.

Hope Piper sleepwalks and has done so most of her life…except when she has lived outside of Spinning Hills. Upon her return the sleepwalking begins again and in her sleep she makes her way to a home she once lived in believing she is back in the past. The new owner of the house is Matt Williams and he is flummoxed by the appearance of distraught Piper but manages to deal with the situation and get contact numbers of persons to call should it show more happen again. And, it does happen again. And each time it happens Matt gets to know Hope a bit better - at least as she was in the past – and he is intrigued.

When Hope’s business situation and Matt’s job overlap there is a bit of difficulty because Matt has been sworn to secrecy about the sleepwalking and Hope feels she knows Matt but doesn’t know why. Hope eventually finds out what has happened over the past months and is mortified but then accepting and eventually romance is in the air. Both Hope and Matt have secrets from their past that need to be shared before a HEA can be achieved.

This book is about returning home, business, family, love, caring, sharing, trust and a great deal more. In this book the trilogy of the Piper sisters concludes and I wonder what the author will write next because I do like her stories.
