A poor woodcutter's two children, lost in the woods, come upon a gingerbread house inhabited by a wicked witch. Folded leaves are superimposed one on the other to create a three-dimensional effect; there are five pictures in all. The title and imprint come from the cover. It is one of three books in a set called “Little Peepshow Books,â€? consisting of Beauty and the Beast, Hansel and Gretel, and Pinocchio. The five fold-out scenes can be put together to make a circular display when show more covers are folded back-to-back and tied with a yellow ribbon. A loop made from the same material is also bound in to the spine for hanging. show less
