The Puzzled Penguin contains an error that I'd like to warn parents about. The narrator's grandfather asks her, "Did you know that there is no land whatsoever at the South Pole -- just ice?"
The book simplifies many concepts and stretches others nearly to the point of snapping, but that statement is just flat-out wrong. It's hard to believe that a publisher named Scholastic would allow it.
If your children read this book, or if you read it to them, you might offer the following caution. "I show more think what the author was trying to say was that there is so much ice and snow at the South Pole that, in many places, you can't see the land underneath." show less
