Diane Silvey

Diane Silvey was a member of the Sechelt Indian Band (Coast Salish). She graduated from the University of British Columbia's Native Indian Teacher Education program and was an educator for 23 years. She wrote numerous children's books on aboriginal subjects including The Kids Book of Aboriginal show more Peoples in Canada, From Time Immemorial: The First Peoples of the Northwest Coast, Spirit Quest, and Time of the Thunderbird. Her other works included the young adult novel Raven's Flight and the picture books Little Bear's Vision Quest and Whale Girl. She died on March 3, 2016. (Bowker Author Biography) show less
