George Bruns (1914–1983)

This was really fun. It’s the words to the song sung in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie, with special and wonderful illustrations. Once you get the cadence down, the song will be stuck in your head for a while. Plus it is a great vocabulary builder for younger children.

We thought this Disney: Pirates of the Caribbean story was just okay. The illustrations of the pirates are interesting and vibrant and we liked reading the words to the song "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)", but the CD song was rather boring.

Do you know how many verses there are to "The Ballad"? You know, the one that starts: "Born on a mountain top in Tennessee". 106. I kid you not.
