One day, a little girl goes outside to play; she serves tea at the stuffed animal tea party before playing with her special doll.

This picture book s a version of the 1940s “Dance with a Dolly (with a Hole in her Stockin’) which, in turn, is based on the traditional American ballad, “Buffalo Gals.” The words and music are included in the book, which invites children to sing and dance.
Bright, colorful double-page collages accompany the song lyrics; show more each amazing illustration captures the little girl’s joy at playing and dancing with her favorite doll.
The target audience for this book is the young reader, preschool through primary grades, ages four through eight. Highly relatable to the reader . . . girls with a favorite doll, boys with a favorite stuffed animal . . . this is sure to be one of the young reader’s favorite books.

The playground can have several different uses especially to those who are in the younger years. This is an excellent book to read to Kindergartener's, because it teaches them certain animals. Each page leaves a climatic ending in order for the reader to figure out which animal is being presented. You are given clue that compares what the child is doing, to what a certain animal may do. I would read this book to a group of Kindergartener's because they will have a broader understanding of show more animal characteristics. show less
