This is the second book in this series, and I like the way this author writes a good mystery. I feel like I am right there trying to figure out the mystery with Helen Bradley. I it takes me pretty much the whole story to figure out who the "bad guy" is because there are always several people it could be. I also like the interaction between Helen and her new husband, J.B.. J.B. isn't in the story much, but you still get to know him and the rest of their family. You could read this as a stand show more alone story, but I encourage folks to read them in order as you get to know the family better.

In this story Helen finds herself in a coastal town in Washington State, where she is finishing a travel guide article. The original author, Isabelle, didn't complete the project because she died. So along with finishing the travel article, Helen will also try to figure out if Isabelle was killed and if so why and by who. Enjoy trying to find the answers as you read another good "Helen Bradley Mystery".

This mystery story, as the back cover states, "combines action and old-fashioned sleuthing in a contemporary mystery". I found myself trying to solve the mystery, right along with former police officer and government agent and grandmother, Helen Bradley. Helen wasn't looking for detective work, but when she talks to a woman about her husband being killed and someone following her, and then that woman ends of dead, Helen feels she owes it to the lady to discover just exactly what happened. show more Helen is pretty sure the secrets lie with the dead doctor's work with anti-aging drugs and so she goes undercover at their elderly care facility to uncover clues to the mystery. I found myself a little nervous along with Helen as things start happening to her and others and wondering if she would get out alive.

It was good to try to solve the case along with Helen and I look forward to reading more stories in this "Helen Bradley Mystery Series". I liked the way she wove the title into her book through a prayer Helen used while undercover, "now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep". Helen will use this prayer as she tries to go to sleep at the elderly care facility, knowing someone has been in her room. A very good mystery!

This is book 3 in this "Helen Bradley Mysteries" series. In this story Helen is called away from her house remodeling job to a secluded island resort owned by the family patriarch, Paddy O'Donnell. Someone has been making attempts on Paddy's life and when she arrives on Paradise Island she finds children and spouses all potential suspects. Why does someone want dear old Paddy dead? And who is keeping the island's legendary ghost, Mary, alive and well in the castle? Helen will have alot to show more sort through as she seeks to unravel this mystery.

Once again, this is a well done mystery that keeps you guessing. Although I am proud to say in this story I had the "bad guy" picked out early on and was glad to see that I was right. I like the mystery solving and the way Helen relates to each family member and the sweet relationship she has with her husband, even though he isn't in the story much. All around enjoyable.

Wow I am surprised at how much that I liked this book. It was by far not my favorite book that I have read but I did like the book. It started off very slow and I was very upset about the initial events but, I found myself loving the characters in the book. I loved Angel and I loved her story. I did find it very suspenseful and loved the ending. I still can not believe the secret because I would have never guessed who Duke actually was. This was one book where that I could not figure out the show more who did it and if Angel was really crazy or set up. It was written very well and I would definitely recommend this book to others! show less
