This story focuses on a couple of weeks in the life of Mack and Puti. It makes for grim depressing reading but sadly is oh so realistic for some people in society. We gradually gain an understanding of how they arrived in their current situation.
The author treats them with compassion. They are not unlikeable and this reader just hoped someone would reach out and help them. Not an uplifting read but a reminder to not judge. They, too, have a story.
