A fun loving dog named Harry narrates this book, and tells all about his adventures on the Greek island of Crete with his friends. He spends his days with fellow rescue dogs Dixie and Poppy, and a playful kitten named Alfie.
Harry also has playmates around the island, in the forms of several dogs, and birds named Jonathan Livingstone Seagull and Russell, a crow.
The gang have minds of their own, and are always in search of some fun with which to fill their days. Loyalty abounds throughout, and show more it is clear that the friends would do anything in their power to help one another.
