A tale of a frustrated older sibling who wrote a perfect rhyming story, which is ruined - or is it? - by his enthusiastic younger sister. Kids who are language-savvy enough to predict the rhymes will enjoy the humor when they are constantly interrupted by the unexpected, in what becomes a wild collaborative story.
"Finally, the knight could lead.
They rode upon his noble--"
"ROCKET!"
"But that doesn't make any...Okay, whatever."

First sentence: The other day, I wrote this book.
You won't believe how long it took.
It rhymed, and I was super proud.
It sounded great when read aloud.
But then my sister came along,
and now the story sounds all wro--
Premise/plot: A young boy has written the perfect rhyming book....until his sister comes along and changes everything.
My thoughts: I enjoyed this one. It could definitely be read by TWO readers for some extra read aloud fun. It could also be dramatized perhaps. It celebrates show more creativity, imagination, adventure, and spontaneity. I'm not sure the brother would agree it celebrates family. But it is super silly to have squabbling siblings on an imaginative adventure. show less

A boy is trying to tell a story in verse, but his pesky little sister keeps interjecting words that break his rhyme scheme and send the story off onto wild tangents.
Cute and clever.
Cute and clever.
I might need to buy this one for my niece. The big brother is telling a story and does a fabulous job telling and rhyming. And then the sister interupts. This happens frequently and the brother goes with it and changes his story to match his sisters in interjections. But by the end, the brother is fed up until he realizes how much of a genius his sister is. This book is genius. Flat. It’s Tongue In Cheek. It’s well done. It has an amazing story and great illustrations. I like everything show more about this book a total five star read. show less
