Meeting the Buddha: On Pilgrimage in Buddhist India by Molly Emma Aitkin

Great read for anyone interested in Buddhist history or better understanding what India was like in the time of Gautama Buddha! The book draws on many different sources: religious texts, literature, and memoirs. I especially enjoyed the various perspectives of visitors throughout time -- some relished the holy sites, others showed indifference!
