B (Good).

Robocop in Space gives himself free will, and some humans he likes are in danger.

I rarely like dystopias, or stories centered around blatant injustice, or satires, and this show really leans into those elements, more than the books did. I still liked the show. It's the rare adaptation of a popular book that actually does something of its own (instead of just trying to put the source material on screen), and succeeds at it. But I'd much rather be watching Sanctuary Moon.

B (Good)

The new music is absolutely terrible, wrote-it-on-the-drive-to-the-studio caliber songwriting. But other than that, this is a lot better than I expected. It feels like if a lost season of the original series had been filmed in HD. Those songs are really hard to stomach, though.

The original is my all-time favorite TV show, and this didn't upset me, so I guess it's alright. It's 100% an early pandemic Let's-Pretend-We're-Still-Making-TV-Shows show, but there's enough promise that I'm almost looking forward to watching the new reboot series.
