- Ethel C. Brown (1875–1953) was an American writer and illustrator who did illustrations for her sister Abbie Farwell Brown, as well as her own books, including "The Three Gays" in four volumes and "The So-and-So Family". She was born in Boston, and resided on Beacon Hill for years. Following graduation from Girls' Latin School, she studied at the Boston Museum School and the Art Students League in New York.
