Short biography: Rosa Carlén was born Catharina Rosaura Dalin, a daughter of the Swedish writer Emilie Flygare-Carlén and Jacob Reinhold Dalin. She took the surname of Carlén from her mother's second husband. She wrote a number of popular and acclaimed novels under the pseudonym "Agnes Tell." Her 1863 novel Bröllopet i Bränna (The Wedding at Bränna) was adapted into a film in 1926.
