About the Author
Ulises Estrella was born on July 4, 1939 in Ecuador. He was a journalist and poet. He was the director of the Federation of Workers of Pichincha newspaper Prensa Obrera between 1974 - 1984. In the 1960s, he was the co-founder of the cultural and literary movement called Tzantzismo, which was a show more revolutionary poetry movement. He wrote several volumes of poetry including Clamor written with Alejandro Katz, Convulsionario, and Cuando el Sol se Mira de Frente. He received the Jorge Carrera Andrade Prize for Fuera del Juego. He also founded the Ecuadorian National Cinematheque Benjamín Carrión, and with the help of UNESCO he started a project called Rescue and Salvage of Ecuadorian Moving Images.
