- Benjamin Farley lived his later years in Columbia, South Carolina, where he continued to preach and lecture. Ben also wrote both fiction and scholarly works, and tended to his “Goethe Garden." Over a period of his career, he published nine scholarly works and seven works of fiction. While at Erskine, Farley was thrice honored with the Excellence in Teaching Award.
