too many shifts in tone—from a multi-chapter, richly-drawn science fiction adventure story to single-page absurdities and multi-page comedies—and works that seemed aimed at a variety of age groups, the whole collection came off as disjointed. It also seems designed to appeal more to young boys and I would have liked it to have more broad appeal. Anthologies are a great way to introduce new readers to new creators, but so much depends on the work of the editor for them to succeed. This show more collection will have its audience, but it's going to be a fairly narrow one, which is too bad. There are some interesting pieces here, but I can't wholeheartedly recommend it as a whole. show less
