The poems collected here were mainly written by poets attending a series of Poetry as Healing workshops, and they are uneven in quality, albeit created for the worthy motive of battling depression.
That's not to say that they are entirely without merit, and I found the poem Honeysuckle by "tory" one which I enjoyed quite as much as those included from established poets such as Robert Frost and Christina Rossetti.
The first verse of Honeysuckle is:
I will weave the hedge this May,
I will warp and show more weft my way,
Back and forth my shuttle green -
Weaving, spinning country cream.
I took a chance in buying this slim volume, which I'm not sure was entirely repaid, but there are some poems here that I will read again, so neither was it a disappointment. show less
