A classic which we liked very much. Songs which continue the story rather than interrupting it, excellent displays of dancing, and a classic chauvinistic but light-hearted plot.

Some low-key humour, some over-acting, and a few artificial backgrounds. A well-deserved classic. It's even in colour, despite having been made in 1954.

Recommended.

D (Bad).

Seven backwoods hermits decide they need women. Bad music and an upsetting story. They do some dancing at one point.

Watched on a plane.

This is the classic version of the film, in black and white, featuring a man looking back over the circumstances leading up to his daughter's wedding.

Starring a young Elizabeth Taylor, this is a very enjoyable, sometimes moving film.
