I enjoyed the literary style and the wording based on the times in which it was written. It left me with a feeling of nostalgia for simpler times.
Appropriate for grades 1-5 because it is a beginning level adaptation of the original novel, which would be too challenging for early readers. This novel is about an 11-year-old orphan named Anne, who is mistakenly sent to prince Edward Island to live with a middle-aged brother and sister. Anne discovers a sense of home at Green Gables, but this is not an easy process for her. Addresses loneliness, changes, home, discovering new places, and hardship. In the classroom, use for read aloud or show more independent silent reading. This book may be a bit challenging for first graders, and a bit easy for some fourth graders. show less
This story's main character is Anne who lived an orphanage. She is adopted into Matthew and Marilla by mistake. However, they liked her due to her character. For, she was a chat and positive, kind girl, and hard worker. I like her, too. This book is interesting because I can watch her growing. Especially, I like her love story... I recommend you this book.

This book is appropriate for grades 3- 8th grade. This book hasn't received any awards. This book is about a spirited red-haired girl with boundless imagination and love of life. Anne is an orphan who is sent to a family by mistake, but goes on to win the heart and love of her adopted family. Uses in the classroom for this would be for the children to write the favorite parts of this book and to list the ups and downs that Anne had while being accepted into her new family.
