An enjoyable, cosy murder mystery set at the end of the Roaring Twenties in Chicago. The description is Agatha Christie meets the Great Gatsby and I think this is quite apt! It has a certain style of writing and is very evocative of the era.

There are a few twists, turns and the odd red herring. It takes time to get going as the murder doesn’t happen until a little way in, but then it quickly builds up speed and it held my attention right up to the end. It's a clever and intriguing plot show more with some interesting characters. I tend to enjoy country house mysteries!

An entertaining, glamorous and nostalgic mystery which should be read in the spirit and time it is written and represents, a time of jazz, silent movies and flappers: the ‘Golden Age’. I look forward to reading more by this author.

This is a cute Christmas-themed short story. It has a heartwarming message at the end, and I did appreciate that the family members aren't given names or racial characteristics, and so could be anyone's family. While it was a fairly predictable story, there was a moment when it could have turned dark (but didn't) that had me briefly wondering if I'd guessed wrong.
