2026 movie #42. 1977. Survivors of a nuclear war attempt to drive cross country in an enormous land vehicle. Expected to be a SF blockbuster, the movie got killed by Star Wars and nobody noticed it. The vehicle cost Fox $300K to build. It wasn't a very good movie. Star Trek score: 1. Paul Winfield, one of the survivors, played Captain Terrell in Star Trek II. Poor Winfield, in Star Trek he died from and alien bug in his brain. In this movie he was eaten by killer cockroaches.
A former child star torments her crippled sister.

Very suspenseful. It feels overly long despite that, maybe because you spend so much of the running time feeling unsettled and uncomfortable.
