A post-apocalyptic world is ruled by rich and beautiful, but typically decadent socialites. But, alongside the privileged elite exists a physically and mentally disadvantaged underclass that band together in squalor and hardship.
United under the leadership or rather dictatorship of the criminal Ramón Yarritu (Antonio Resines), this downtrodden crew of 'mutants' do what they can to fight the selfish and powerful ruling classes.
Initially they pose more of a nuisance than anything else; blowing up sperm banks, massacring an aerobics class on live TV etc. But, following the botched kidnapping of a body builder in which they accidentally suffocate their victim; Ramón Decides to orchestrate one final job that will make each one of them rich - the kidnapping of Patricia Orujo (Frédérique Feder) heiress of billionaire businessman Lord Orujo (Fernando Guillén).

They manage to kidnap the unfortunate girl in the middle of her wedding but it soon turns into a massacre as all the guests are gunned down by one of the gang hidden inside the wedding cake, when Patricia accidentally stabs him during the cake cutting ceremony.
Fleeing in a rickety old spaceship that barely holds together; the gang make their demands and head for the mining planet of Axturiax, where the exchange is to be made.

What follows is mayhem, skulduggery and treachery as the plan runs into one problem after the next with the local population of the planet and among the dwindling crew themselves.

If you appreciate your humour dark, laughed at the Evil Dead II, and appreciate a well executed low budget sci-fi/horror/comedy. If you enjoyed the visuals of City of the Lost Children or the energy of Phantom of the Paradise, you are probably going to 'get' this movie.

I give it 5 stars because, to be frank, I missed this 'gem' when it first came out. But, once I discovered it on video it immediately became one of my favourite films. I watched it 3 times in one day and never got bored!
Watch it. It is totally awesome.
