The Man Who Sued God by Mark Joffe
The lead character--a self-absorbed alcoholic--is not particularly likeable, and thus we tend not to find him a sympathetic plaintiff. But the legal motivations are credible (he is a former lawyer). The ending, however, is confused. A complementary treatment of the same theme (in fact, it credits this script for its foundation) is the Bollywood treatment in OMG.
