Told in a slightly detatched style, perfectly suited to romance between Russian vampire and English chef, T. P. Keating’s The Petrosian Invitation begins when the undead hero falls in love with chocolate mousse and ends with, well, you’ll have to see. In between, chef Sam delights in having met a man who’s “genuine, warm and alive,” inviting wry smiles from the reader who know he’s cold and dead. But risks have to be taken, in cooking, love, and any other form of creativity, show more including travel.

Warm, fun dialog, happy coincidence, and wry humor characterize this novella. It’s not at all your average vampire romance, nor your average romance or vampire novella of any kind. It’s got great characters ranging from slightly surprising to seriously strange. The plot’s amusing and fun. The adventure’s exciting. And the business of big gas cooks more than just a few pots in the kitchen. If you’re looking for a serious read, this probably isn’t for you. But if you’re looking for something different and fun, I’d definitely recommend it.
