The firsthand story of an around the world trip in a small sailboat in the 1930s. The author sailed through the pre-war South Pacific which takes up more than half the book. He experiences life there in the days before the world struggle to come followed by the unending flood of tourists. A lot of luck, some sadness, some minor triumphs follow for a young man who later covered the Pacific War as a photographer, producing some classi combat footage.
