TW/CW: Death, talk of self-harm, description of an illegal abortion, sex, talk of miscarriage, murder, armed robbery
RATING: 4/5
REVIEW: I received a free copy of this book from Goodreads Giveaways and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Dele Weds Destiny is the story of three college friends from Nigeria who reunite in Lagos for the wedding of one of their daughters.
This was an interesting book. Well written and fast-moving, I liked the stories of the friends and how they all pulled show more together to the one moment of the wedding. I liked the feminism and strains of anti-colonialism through this book as well.
My biggest problem with this book was the ending, which seemed to me a little abrupt and I think should have gone on a little longer, although I did like the way it ended. I would definitely recommend this book. show less

I thought this book was really interesting. I enjoyed all the characters and how complicated all their lives, thoughts, and feelings were. I wish that there was more at the ending that gave a better conclusion or a second book that showed where the characters are now, but overall it was good!
I grabbed this one for the gorgeous cover but I stayed for the story!
I was hooked from page 1. The story is about friendship, family, and love. I appreciated getting to know all the characters and then seeing how the MC and others grew.
A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.
