W. F. O'Connor (1870–1943)

HRH The Prince of Wales had hunted with the author and his picture appears as the Frontispiece. Inscription reads: "In memory of a week in the Nepal jungles from the author," signed by O'Connor and dated 21st Feb 1931.

Comme les contes sont universels, c’est bien connu, on n’y est pas dépaysé en compagnie de nombreux animaux, de personnages valeureux ou astucieux face à des épreuves, de bons et de show more méchants, de rusés, de situations aux aspects fantastiques. Et comme dans les contes du monde entier, suivant leur provenance d’origine, on trouve des particularités, il y a dans ceux-ci des ambiances et des cadres spécifiquement tibétains.
Ces contes ont été recueillis au début du 20ᵉ siècle par un membre d’une célèbre expédition britannique au Tibet. —Françoise BLÉVOT
