Another solid entry in the life and times of bounty hunter Mercy St. Clair. I have been reading these stories since the first was published in Dark Horse Presents many years ago, and it's fun to see the the author grow and develop both the characters and the world they inhabit.
Two caveats: The fan service (curvy women in torn, wet, clingy clothes, you know) is even more over the top in this one than in other recent books, but it is well done at least. Also, I don't think this story will make show more any sense unless you've read at least the newer stories, starting with The Darkstar Zephyr or earlier. But I could be wrong, I've read this all in order. show less

I probably would've rated this higher if I'd read the series when it was first published, but now, this story of a futuristic female bounty hunter feels dated. What once must have seemed daring and fresh, now has a lot of competition. Mercy St. Clair (her name brought to mind Modesty Blaise) is determined and committed to her chosen profession, but has a soft heart, considered a flaw for someone in her line of work, but it gives her a rounded personality, which is good considering how much show more of these stories feel cliched, especially the dialogue. I don't know when these stories were originally written, but the tech seems almost quaint now given all the advances of the past couple of decades, which isn't Randall's fault, of course; it just means some aspects of this series haven't aged well. The art is lovely, though. Randall has a nice, realistic touch. I wanted to like this more than I did. show less
A great introduction to Norse mythology, in a fun, easy to read graphic novel format. The story of brothers Thor and Loki tells the tale of how brawn isn't always a useful a weapon as using your brain! The brothers are outwitted by the Giants, but shown in the end that they were only beaten in their challenges because it had been seen already that they had great strength and needed to be taught a lesson about using their heads and not Thor's hammer to solve problems.
I loved the graphic novel show more format. The illustrations were vivid and realistic. The graphic novel format is appealing to readers of all levels. The author consulted Bulfinch's Mythology and researched Norse mythology to make sure the story was retold accurately. The end of the book contains a glossary of terms and names so readers can look up a more on Thor, Loki and Norse mythology. The title is from Graphic Universe, an imprint of Lerner Publishing Group. They also have Hercules, Isis & Osiris, King Arthur and The Trojan Horse. show less

A ideia de trabalhar isso do Bicho-Papão é excelente. E a participação de Constantine na história traz muito mais significado...
