Short biography
Daniel Talbott is an award-winning American playwright, director, actor, screenwriter, and producer who graduated from the Juilliard School's Drama Division. He is the founding Artistic Director of the Lucille Lortel and Obie Award-winning theater collective Rising Phoenix Rep, and has served on the literary teams of Rattlestick Playwrights Theater and the Echo Theater Company. His extensive creative path covers television screenwriting for The Mist (Spike TV) and The Conners (ABC), alongside writing and directing queer cinema projects under his production banner, Orphan Andy Films. His theatrical accolades include a New York Innovative Theatre Award for Outstanding Directing and the Caffe Cino Fellowship Award. He is an openly out queer artist who is happily married to his long-term collaborator, actress Addie Johnson Talbott.
