“Our race had been cursed with all kinds of demons, wearing human disguises.”

“My passion. You take my horror, you take my soul.”

We shall see as the brothers face more than they could have imagined.

Right from the beginning, the cover fit the story, plus a bonus….a serial killer.

Shadows. Killers. Ghost men. Vitamin D Killings. What’s up with that? He explains to his brother what’s been happening, but….Is it real? Is he crazy?

The serial killer snuck up on me as I was lost in the show more horror of the shadows. I had moments of hurry, hurry, hide, don’t go there. I was pretty ho hum through the majority of the book with patches of fear for the boys and curiosity that kept me going.

The ending…I love when an author reminds me there is not always a happy ever after. Wesley Thomas lured me into complacency, setting me up for a very suspenseful ending. I think sometimes the writing, a British horror novel, makes me stumble while reading, taking away some of the urgency I would normally feel.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of They Lurk by Wesley Thomas.
