DR. (Doctor) CYCLOPS - with: Too Late for Eternity; and The Harpers of Titan - A Captain Future Story by Henry Kuttner
Kutner's "Dr. Cyclops" seemed to me a wee-bit puerile compared with the other two stories included in this book, nevertheless being an enjoyable short. It seemed to me large portions of detail had been edited out. Still there is enough to present us with imagery of landscape and characters. Strange bit, with the albinos...
Edmond Hamilton's "The Harpers of Titan" is beautifully crafted. Quite a worthwhile story that does not seem dated in the least. Those of you familiar with the "Weird show more Tales" of the Howard and Lovecraft era will be quite familiar with his name. He was quite active up til his death in 1977. I am very glad that I stumbled upon this gem of a story!
Bryce Walton's "Too Late For Eternity" really did not impress me in the first few pages. As I progressed I came to find the story quite entertaining with even a sprinkle of ironic tragedy in the end. It is well that it was included with the other 2 stories.
I plan to seek out more work by Mr. Hamilton. show less
