- The Randy Starr series was produced by the Stratemeyer Syndicate and featured aviation stories set in the barnstorming period between Lindbergh's Transatlantic solo flight and World War II. The series was first published by Altemus in quality editions with good paper. More commonly seen are the Saalfield dime store reprints with high acid pulp paper that turns brown and brittle with age. The ghostwriter hired for the first two volumes was a young Roger C. Caris. His father, Howard R. Garis, was the most prolific writer for the Syndicate and completed the third volume from their outline. (English, Unclassified)
