- The Tollivers was the Stratemeyer Syndicate attempt to provide a mystery series to African-American readers. It was based on their Happy Hollisters series. The series was not very successful, however, and had only limited sales, making them difficult to find today.The three volumes were rewritten as volumes 2-4 of the Bobbsey Twins series published by Wanderer in 1980.
