Collections of the American Dennis the Menace newspaper strip started in the mid-1950s with a series of hardcover titles published by Henry Holt/Holt, Rinehart and Winston (and later, Random House). These were issued in paperback by Avon, and later (some? in expanded form) as mass-market paperbacks by Pocket Books. The rights then moved to Fawcett, who published them under the Crest imprint, then later as Fawcett Gold Medal.
