: The British Composers range was a series of re-releases of classic recordings and new releases from EMI Classics. The series invoked the tagline "Celebrating the Past, Shaping the Future." The first series of nine issues in mid-1991, followed by a second set of eight in autumn of the same year. Each CD release featured a small gold or silver foil stamp of the British Isles on the cover, with the words "British Composers" above. Releases continued through the 1990s.
