Possibly for 1st graders. (1) Detailed and descriptive intro (1) Fiction. I chose this book to emphasize what an onomatopoeia is. I would have my students write a short story using onomatopoeia. I would have this book in my class to show mentor text and how the author showcases different writing techniques for students to use when writing. (1) great sounds and use of onomatopoeia as well as personification. This book has beautiful descriptors as well. (1) Great use of personification and verbs.
