In October 2009, author Diana Gabaldon came to the (now gone) McNally-Robinson bookstore to give a talk and sign books. She is from Arizona and she was hilarious when she described someone lending her this big heavy coat (because, of course, she hadn't brought one) so she could stand onstage outdoors and talk! Big outdoor heaters were set up but even we were happy to go inside for the signings. She is a very funny lady and not only talked a lot but also took a lot of questions.
