So, what's there to do for those of us who aren't in the publishing biz? Or will we find it boring?

From their web site:

'Please note: BookExpo America is for the book publishing trade only
and is not a public event. Be prepared to provide business card or company invoice."

And to pay.

You have to pay to get in too...

I wonder if this was posted as a roundabout way of advertizing?

Paranoid? I just don't likt tripping over ads, or even "ads."

Kingkama wasn't advertising! Seriously, Tim posted over in his blog asking if we had any suggestions for places to hang out in the city while he (Tim) was at BEA.

I'm actually a bit excited.

Sorry guys, I missed this thread earlier. I am indeed looking for suggestions for places to have a LT meet-up. It's true that BEA is limited to "industry professionals", but that's why I was hoping to have a general LT meet-up, while I'm in the city...

That would be great! What dates are you going to be here, and how close to the Javits Center (which is kinda way off the beaten track) would you like the meet-up to be?

I'll be there Thursday May 31st through Sunday June 3rd. It'd be nice to have it not *too* far from the Javits Center, just so I can more easily drag people out with me, but I'm willing to accept suggestions farther out. It's not like we can't walk/taxi/subway... :)

Ok, I've had a suggestion for The Half King Restaurant & Bar. Apparently the author of Perfect Storm, Sebastian Junger is a co-owner, and it's not too far from Javits (23rd st and 10th ave)... Thoughts?

Ek - time change (too many requests to have it earlier!) It's now at 6:30. (See the blog post. Please, somebody show up so I'm not sitting there alone :)
