Maybe Mother's Day weekend isn't the perfect time for a readathon . . . but then again, a lot of LT moms will probably be receiving books! I finished semester grading today and would love to host a readathon to celebrate the beginning of summer break. I'd like to start Friday (May 11) at 10:00 a.m. EDT and keep things going until Monday morning, 10:00 a.m.

Whose in? If there's enough interest to make it go, I'll post a sign-up thread tomorrow.

I could probably jump in, although I'll have to alternate with some housecleaning... before the dustbunnies walk off with the entire house!

That would be fine. I will have to check out briefly for a hair appointment and will be starting to unearth the floor over the next few days. (Tends to get like that during the semester, sadly.)

we're having the kids over for a BBQ but other than those few hours, I'm up for it.

Great! I will plan it to be a "drop in" readathon--no commitment to read the whole 72 hours, just come as you can and come as you are!

I posted this in a new thread and on the old 2011 Readathon thread; I didn't find a 2012 thread in my search. Hopefully readathons haven't become passe. I know there are other groups doing them, but they all seem to be themed, like reading one author.

I'm in! I will be able to do at least some on Friday, Sunday, and/or Monday. Saturday I graduate. . . and may be going to the drive-in, so it's prolly a dud.

Also, the 2012 read-a-thon thread that's been a little neglected lately

Thanks, kate. I'll post on that thread, too, just in case.

I have to work Thursday and Friday nights (8 pm to 8 am), but I'll be off from work from Saturday morning through Monday morning. I might get some reading done if Friday night is quiet, and after I catch up on sleep on Saturday I'll be interested in reading the rest of the weekend. So, I'm in.

Could someone post the link to the new thread? Not finding it...

10> Which new thread? Kate posted the 2012 not-very-active link above in Message 7. I haven't yet posted a signup thread; plan to do that tomorrow, late morning or early afternoon. Are either of those what you're looking for?

I'm in for a bit Deborah - as much as I can manage around the kids and lesson prep. I'll be a drop-inner.

I'm definitely in for a drop-in Readathon.
